Jenny Normand

Jenny started her journey with Yoga back in 2005 in a group class at a gym. With her competitive nature, she was instantly hooked, as she was challenged to achieve the poses in the class. Jenny’s initial practice was solely focused in the asana/physical practice of Yoga and not until later did she realize how much more Yoga was to her. Jenny is a retail leader when she’s not on the mat and Yoga brings balance to her life in the midst of the hectic retail world she lives in. Jenny was assigned to Hawaii, in 2014, to further her career and lead the Banana Republic stores in the Hawaiian Islands. “Carpe diem” was her mantra as she lived in Oahu. She spent a lot of time hiking, being out on the water and simply being out with nature. In the summer of 2015, she took the opportunity to deepen her Yoga practice and completed her Teacher Training at Power Yoga Hawaii, where she taught part time immediately after her certification. Jenny is also in love with Acro Yoga and was an active member of the community in Hawaii. She’s now back home with her hubby, Josh, in TX and is now the District Manager of Athleta. She is thankful as she is able to live her dream job and able to weave her work and personal life seamlessly. Expect an energized, sweaty, powerful flow in Jenny’s class.

Grace Kubecka

Grace teaches a lively, sweaty, and FUN class emphasizing living your life fully and not taking yourself too seriously. Her classes will challenge you and yet release stuff inside... you'll see that yoga goes beyond the poses - there's more - the stuff underneath - that's where the real yoga is.
Grace's yoga journey began in 2000 by attending a yoga class on a whim thinking it would be a boring hour of breathing and stretching. Instead she found herself challenged - body, mind and soul. Instantly addicted, she has been practicing ever since. In 2006, Grace started teaching and spreading the yoga joy! Grace spent her childhood in Houston and has been living in Sugar Land since 2004. She is a wife to a super-tolerant husband and a mother to two energetic boys. Her original career path was climbing the corporate ladder in the field of human resources for over 15 years, and after having two of the cutest boys you'll ever meet, Grace decided to take her passion to the next level and opened Awakened Yoga Studio in Sugar Land in early 2010. It's been a passionate whirlwind ever since!
Grace has completed trainings with a variety of teachers including Baron Baptiste and Ana Forest. Her primary style of teaching is power vinyasa flow but she's been known to teach anything from restorative to Ashtanga! She has also been leading teacher trainings since 2011.

Amber C. Callahan

Amber Callahan is a mom to two boys, yogi, practices Jiu Jitsu, weight lifter, certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, Arbonne consultant, and plant based diet enthusiast. She began practicing yoga just over a year ago after battling chronic physical conditions from years of heavy weight training and running and training for marathons. What she found when she started practicing consistently was that her body healed physically from injuries and stayed strong. In addition to the physical benefits, Amber has also found that yoga has helped her on an emotional and spiritual level as she has learned to carry yoga principles off the mat, as well. She received her 200 hour yoga certification through Awakened Yoga and also holds a certification as a personal trainer and nutrition coach.

Jeffrey Wedelich

Jeffrey believes that yoga has the power to reduce stress and promote physical healing. He teaches a class that focuses on breath and well-being, while still providing opportunities for improvements in strength and flexibility. He offers a simple approach to make progress accessible to the intermediate student. Jeffrey hopes to make it as easy as possible for people to discover the benefits of yoga. Jeffrey took his first yoga class in 2006, not realizing that vinyasa would soon become an integral part of his life. He received his 200-hour RYT certification from Awakened Yoga in 2014. He has experience working as a personal trainer, is a proficient kick-boxer, and is learning gymnastics. Jeffrey received a BS in Engineering Science from Trinity University in 2007. His passions for athleticism and longevity have made him an ongoing student of nutrition.

Bea Porter

Bea Porter is a mother of three girls, coffee addict and self-proclaimed foodie. She originally registered for Yoga teacher training so she could learn more advanced poses. She didn't know then how much of a life change it would be for her.

Through yoga teacher training and her practice at Awakened, she realized that yoga is about more than just the poses. She grew as a person and made significant life changes that led her to become more confident and make the leap from employee to business owner managing social media!

Bea received her 200-hour yoga certification in March of 2018 from Awakened Yoga. She still enjoys getting into new and advanced poses but has found so much more from your daily yoga practice and meditation.

Bea enjoys balancing poses, will avoid chair pose when possible and is a big fan of using blocks! She has a passion for partner yoga and loves the connection that comes when practicing next to someone.

This is an all-level vinyasa practice where poses are explored beyond the basics and at a faster pace. This class is appropriate for ambitious beginners and long time practitioners.
