Flow & Go

This class is taught by:

Heather Hutson

Growing up in small town Needville, Tx Heather was introduced to yoga by a Denise Austin Dvd. After purchasing a few more DVDs, She was astonished to hear instruction for "free form" yogis choice. Heather, being a self proclaimed doer, found that the space to just be, feel and create shapes on her own was foreign and intimidating. She started her practice at Awakened Yoga in 2014. After about a month of feeling awkward, she settled into this beautiful love story with herself. Fine tuned focus, tension and pain relief, easier breathing, blossoming self love, and most of all space to create her best self all came into the picture. She  finished yoga teacher training in 2017 at AY studio and enjoys giving back the goodness she has received through this divine practice. She encourages staying in tune with your inner drum, letting yoga meet you on your mat and together form a harmonious song.

Amber Callahan

Amber Callahan is a mom to two boys, yogi, practices Jiu Jitsu, weight lifter, certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, Arbonne consultant, and plant based diet enthusiast. She began practicing yoga just over a year ago after battling chronic physical conditions from years of heavy weight training and running and training for marathons. What she found when she started practicing consistently was that her body healed physically from injuries and stayed strong. In addition to the physical benefits, Amber has also found that yoga has helped her on an emotional and spiritual level as she has learned to carry yoga principles off the mat, as well. She received her 200 hour yoga certification through Awakened Yoga and also holds a certification as a personal trainer and nutrition coach.

Trish Jacquet

Trish is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance after having completed the 200 hour training in Spring of 2015 here at Awakened Yoga. After completing multiple marathons, long distance bike rides and brutal sessions in the gym, she decided to give yoga a go for some “gentle stretching”. It was an instant love affair, resulting in the most challenging physical and mental activity she had ever done. After developing a deeper yoga practice, she learned that growth does not come from forcing her mind/body into things it was not ready for, but with patience and breath. Her goal as a teacher is make yoga fun and accessible to everyone without worry or judgement. When she is not on the mat, her other happy places are hanging at home with her hubs and 3 kiddos, anything around the water (but not IN the water!), blue sky, music, and travelling – okay, so the latter is (gratefully) limited for now because of said 3 kids, but still a passion!! Trish gets your flow on and heart rate up in Fitness yoga, the kids moving and smiling in Kids Yoga and is also trained in Power yoga.

Tamara Kontrimas

Tamara began practicing yoga in 2000 when, due to illness, her body rebelled, hit her upside the head and demanded that she change her exercise routine. She made peace with her body in her first yoga class and has been devoted to the practice ever since. Tamara credits yoga with allowing her to do things now that she couldn’t have imagined doing 15 years ago. As an artist, a retired attorney, and a “wanna be” comedian, she loves the creativity, fluidity and physical challenge of vinyasa flow. She is curious about all of life (ok maybe not math) particularly nature and the odd juxtapositions and opportunities for learning it brings. Through her teaching, Tamara hopes to heighten the over all awareness of others and to create an environment that nurtures the rediscovery of student’s own inner voice. “Throughout the day we all have 1,000 different voices telling us different things about who or what we are or should be. It takes a lot of courage and support to drown out those voices and be true to ourselves, and we can start by listening to the body.”
This 45-minute lunchtime class is an all-level vinyasa practice where poses are explored beyond the basics and at a faster pace. This class is appropriate for ambitious beginners and long time practitioners.  Perfect for your lunch hour!
