Program Schedule & Details
Our program is flexible combining both in person, live training with self-paced virtual learning so that anyone can work their schedule around it. 

 

Meeting dates and times are listed below. These are for IN-PERSON meetings only. You will also be required to complete self-paced training in between our in-person sessions. After the last weekend date, you will be required to co-teach (with your fellow training student) a minimum of 3 classes to complete the training - details will be provided during the training. Attendance is mandatory at all in person dates, but if you have a conflict, please reach out and we can work something out.

A typical training day begins with group discussion followed by yoga practice, lectures, small group activity, and practice teaching. You will have ample breaks for personal time for reflection or individual work.

Program Fees

$500 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot (applied towards your tuition)

$2900 early bird registration (paid in full by 4/15/25)

$3400 full price

Tuition includes unlimited yoga classes (in studio and live stream) 5/1/25 to 9/30/25. Tuition also includes a printed manual. Tuition does not include required reading materials - a reading list will be provided approximately two weeks before training begins.  A 50% refund will be issued in the event of a student's withdrawal by April 15, 2025.  Due to financial commitments made by the program, no refunds will be issued after April 15, 2025. No exceptions.

Q: How much yoga experience do I need?

A: We welcome all students with a regular practice and a passion for learning?

 

Q: Can I take this training if I don't want to teach?

A: Absolutely! Many students take this training to deepen their personal practice. 

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: Yes! Payment plans are available for the full tuition amount. All payments must be fulfilled before certification will be issued and must be paid by 9/30/25.

Q: Is this training registered with the Yoga Alliance?

A: Yes, this is a registered 200 hour yoga training with the Yoga Alliance. Upon certification, you will be eligible to register as a 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher).

Q: What is required in the self-paced training?

A: The self-paced training includes watching training videos, reading two books, observing classes, and writing two papers. All students must maintain a log of regular yoga practice as well.

Q: What if I miss an in-person session?

A: Depending on the sessions missed, you will receive make up work or be required to take attend the missed portion in a future training. We encourage you to not miss out on the valuable time with your fellow training students or delay your certification.

Q: Do you offer teaching positions after the certification?

A: We do not guarantee a teaching position after the training. If you are interested in teaching at Awakened Yoga, please speak with Grace Kubecka during the training for next steps.

Meet Your Instructors
 

Grace Kubecka

E-RYT 500

Grace has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and took her first ever yoga teacher training in 2006 with Baron Baptiste. She has completed over 200 hours with Baron Baptiste, over 100 hours with Ana Forest and over 300 hours with Jason Crandell. She is now working on her next 500 hour Yoga Medicine certification with Tiffany Cruikshank. She's been teaching classes for over 19 years and continues to teach classes and workshops on a regular basis. Grace teaches classes that are challenging but accessible. She believes that yoga is truly for every body and is able to work with all abilities and skill levels to adapt the practice. She continually attends training classes to upgrade her skills and knowledge. Grace began training yoga teachers in 2012 as a way to recruit new teachers to Awakened Yoga. Since then she has led over 4000 hours of teacher training. When you study at with her, you'll get frank and honest feedback as well as real life advice that only comes with years and years of teaching. Besides her yoga training, Grace holds both a BBA and M. Ed. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sophia Bekiaris, DC, DACNB

Dr. Sophia Bekiaris has served the Fort Bend community since 2011. She has helped many people with various conditions and has a true passion for her work. 

A true Houstonian, Dr. Sophia was born and raised in the Houston area. She had the wonderful opportunity to live in Greece TWICE! The first time being for 7 years, through her Junior High and High School years. The second time being 2017 after selling her Sugar Land office for a chance to experience practicing in a foreign country. 

Dr. Sophia pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston. Concurrent to her undergraduate studies she also became a Licensed Massage Therapist. She later moved to Davenport, Iowa where she attended the first and largest chiropractic college in the world, Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating in 2010, she returned to Houston to open her private practice. 

Aside from her love of Chiropractic healing, she is also a huge Yoga advocate. In 2014 she studied under Ana Forrest and completed the 200-RYT Forrest Teacher Training certification course. She taught Forrest Yoga at Awakened Yoga from 2015 until her departure to Greece.
